About

Background
I built my first computer when I was eight years old. My dad is both an electrical engineer and an avid gamer, so naturally, I was raised on computers. When he offered me one of my very own, I was thrilled. But, there was one catch: I had to build it myself out of the scrap parts in the garage from his old builds. I am sure I had more help than I remember, but eight-year-old me still felt pretty cool that day
My love for computers began at a young age and eventually unfolded into a curiosity for cyber security, which evolved into a passion for application security.
I am a highly motivated self-learner with strong personal initiative. I began self-studying application security in early 2022 after graduating with a BS in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance in 2021. I have worked in the IT industry since 2019 and the security industry since 2021. I was fortunate to find an experienced mentor shortly after beginning my journey into appsec to guide me through a learning path and into the field.
I am excited to continue to learn and grow in the fascinating field of application security and hope that documenting this journey can help any other non-software developers with a passion for appsec find their way into this field as I hope to.
